#3 Google Forms and its functions/ features. Discuss three interesting ways to use Google Forms in my studies.

Google Forms is a free tool from Google that allows the users to create forms, surveys, quizzes and many more. After they have completed their surveys, they can share the forms with other people. This is to allow the people to complete the forms online. Following this, the creator can collect all the responses in a spreadsheet. Basically, Google Forms provides the users with helpful summaries of the collected data in the form of charts and graphs.

Now, I am going to talk about one of the feature in Google Forms and its function. Whether you realize this or not, the 'file upload' option is now available in Google Forms! This is useful especially for those who wish to collect information which is in the forms of document, image or even video. Like any other type of question that is already available in Google Forms, you will see a new entry called ‘File upload’ included in the options. As the form creator, all you need to do is to add your own question, and select 'File Upload' in the list. Moreover, you can indicate the maximum file size (from 1 MB to 10 GB), maximum number of files to be uploaded and select which file types that you allow the respondents to upload. Note that these are all included in the ‘File upload’ parameters. Once the button is added, your respondents will be able to upload their file to the form submission either from their computer or pick one available in their Drive. The process of the uploaded file ownership transfer works are as follows:
  1. A copy of the file is uploaded to the Google Form by a respondent.
  2. The ownership of this copy is then automatically transferred to the form owner.
  3. The copy is finally automatically added to the form owner's appropriate folder.
There are so many ways to use Google Forms in education. But I think that mostly it is used in these three main categories which includes procedural stuffs, assessments, learning and creating. For procedural stuffs, I can do surveys to know people's opinions. The survey can basically be anything you like regarding in your studies. This is very useful especially for students who need to do survey prior to their subject as it is convenient and easy. Next one is on assessments. If you wish to do a quiz as a form of assessment, Google Form also can function as quiz maker. As usual, this is a fun and quick way to let your respondents join the quiz. At the same time, you can analyse the answers. Last but not least, learning and creating by using Google Forms smartly. For instance, you can create a race within the students, in Google style. This game is going to be an intense mashup of Google Slides/Documents, Google Forms and Google Maps (optional). Racers must complete several challenges provided by the creator using Google Slides or Documents. The race is something like this:
  1. First, they complete the first challenge in the slide presentation or document.
  2. Next up, they need to submit the link to the presentation/document in a Google Form.
  3. Once submitted, the link to the next challenge in the game is in a link on the confirmation page for the form.
I might not have explain this race as clearly as it takes you to understand, but if you are interested, check out this interesting example by Michelle Green.
So, there you go. These are my opinions on Google Form and how it can be used in studies.
